Whether the matter is civil, criminal, commercial, or constitutional, I have observed one pattern across decades of practice: delay is often the litigant’s greatest enemy. Rights that could have been protected by a timely stay, a carefully worded notice, or an early filing are later fought for through years of contested litigation—with no certainty of the same result.
Limitation periods are not technical traps invented to harass citizens; they are part of the law’s demand for diligence. Once limitation expires, even a meritorious claim may be shut out. Interim protection—stay of demolition, stay of recovery, bail, or injunction—can change the entire course of a dispute within days. Waiting “to see what happens” is rarely a safe strategy when the opposite side is already acting.
I also caution clients against relying on hearsay. Advice from acquaintances, half-understood news of “similar cases,” or unfinished suggestions from non-lawyers can lead people to file the wrong petition, miss a mandatory notice, or destroy their own case by writing an ill-advised letter. A short, honest consultation with counsel costs far less than correcting a wrong first step.
Timely advice does not always mean filing a case. Sometimes it means sending a legal notice, exhausting a departmental remedy correctly, negotiating from a position of strength, or simply preserving evidence before it disappears. My duty is to tell you what the law requires—not what is convenient to hear.
If something has gone wrong—an FIR, a show-cause notice, a disputed property entry, a service order, or a commercial breach—do not postpone clarity. Meet counsel, place the full facts, and decide the next step with open eyes. A brief consultation at the right time can protect rights that years of litigation may not restore later. That is the practical truth I share with every person who walks into my chambers.
These reflections come from my day-to-day practice. If your matter needs personal attention, I welcome you to consult with complete facts and documents.
